I always find it interesting to see which perennials will thrive given the current year’s weather. I’m not sure all of my years of being interested has allowed me to witness a pattern of any kind. But, I still find it fascinating that while last year the Peonies I have around town were incredible and a few other things barely made a show. This year it was the Peonies that barely said hello, meanwhile Columbine and Anthony Waterer Spirea seem to be thriving – last year you would have walked right by them without a second thought. This year though, they are really trying to grab our attention, deservedly so!
