Wetland Survivors and Thrivers

Whoa!  I just thought last Spring was full of rain! We’ve been swimming here in North Texas for months and the sun has just made what feels like it’s first serious appearance since March! Even when we seemed to have a break in the rain, we had so much cloud cover and humidity that rain would have been preferable. We even had to treat a few St Augustine lawns for Brown Patch which I have never seen in the Spring. There were of course a few plants that were unfazed by the deluge. These are plants which typically seem to thrive a little further south in Texas where it doesn’t get as cold and stays more humid or a little further East where some of the same conditions are present.  We still plant these varieties regularly but this year they are prettier than normal.
